My original plan was to put a basket of candy in front of my house to see if anybody would take some. I soon realized that a cul-de-sack was not the optimal location for this experiment. So I moved the bowl on the street connected to my cul-de-sack. I then retrieved my trusty binoculars and took to my post in my parents room. I stared out the window hoping for my first test subject to walk by the bowl. As the first people walked by they completely ignored the bowl. It took about 5 people to walk by before anyone took anything. Funny thing the first couple was a father son duo. The child went in for the initial reach of the candy, but the father stopped him, like most fathers would do. The father let the child walk by the basket and slyly took a piece of the candy from the basket. That was the event that stuck most from this experiment.
